Can U read this?

I am so thankful for all of you who have sent me email and blog posts with questions about the project that have really made me think.  Some of you have been kind enough to do some thinking for me ;-)
In a previous post I talked about wanting to include a phrase that is important to me in the design of the carzy quilt and some of the different languages I will use to represent that phrase.

Reid made a fabulous suggestion about including a picture word puzzle and then was kind enough to design one for me. Can you read this Rebus?

How about this pictogram?

Jimmy suggested I include a QR code. Now doesn't everyone know what a QR code is?  Those of you with smartphones can download a free app that is a QR reader. Use your camera phone to take a picture of this bar code to see what it says. I'll bet you can't guess...

Susie put me in touch with the woman who runs the computerized fabric printer at MICA.  On Nov 3 we will print all of these (and more) images and text onto fabric, steam it to set the ink, and then we will be ready to glue them onto the car on Saturday Nov 6.

Natan (one of my art car project facilitators and Wheely Good Smoothie entrepreneur) and I have a plan to test the contact cement glue technique of applying fabric to my car on Sunday. This will be the true test of my metal (pun intended). If you see my van parked around town after 10/31, feel free to climb up on the roof to check out the art work!
