Day Two - it really does take a village

Bagels and Blue Bottle coffee started the day thanks to Nancy, Noah, and Molly (coffee by Diana).  Keswick road was well represented by our breakfast hosts and Jim, Eve, Janet, Rebekah, Dave and Cynthia.  Natan and I planed the roof design which was supervised by Melvin the dog and skillfully implemented by David and Sophia.  We hope that the car will be parked outside when the Google satellites fly over to update the neighborhood photos.
Cousin Judy enjoyed sewing some of the real fabric squares that will be used on the interior seat covers while Larry enjoyed taking photos.  Roland Park Place sent over a cheering squad of Sally, Barbara, and Mary. Friend Judy prepared a great lunch spread with sandwich fixings and the best tuna salad I have had in years. Chasing it down with one of Emily's new "Hello Delhi" cardamom truffle didn't hurt either.

Lorraine, Stephanie and Nina, Katrina, Darwin, Lola, Anne, Rita, Tom, Peter, Abby, Janet, Diana, Richard, Liz, and Sandra skillfully blending blues and purples to create hidden shapes and symbols.  Chris took some photos you may see in the January issue of the Urbanite with an article by Martha.

As the day drew to a close, martinis were poured, glassed raised, and we all held hands and cheered as the last piece of fabric was placed at the front of the roof.

There is still a bit more work to be done trimming, tucking, gluing, and finally sealing the car to make it water proof and road worthy. This will happen over the next week and by Nov 16, look for the crazy quilt car on the streets of Baltimore!

I have such appreciation of all of the love that my friends from near and far have given to me through their efforts on this project weekend. I could not have done it without all of you but more importantly - I wouldn't have wanted to.  It's only fun when you share it with friends. What goes around, comes around.
